Here is the old house..lower cedar undergoing clean and is now all oiled. Window trims on right painted in dune. Ok. So had heart attack yesterday. Roof painter came out. I am at work. He and my son decided to ‘colormatch’ my already woodland grey painted posts and decide ....yes it’s armour grey....I had told both days earlier woodland grey...now have an armour grey roof which is same as windspray...don’t know whether to laugh or cry..more cry actually. Heart was set on woodland grey and dune trims. But I did really like your windspray..so confused now what to do....any help would be appreciated.

I MUST put a verandah though - the front garden is heavenly - 9 metres to the front with roses and fruit trees (though it looks rough here) and is high up opposite a park for a view. I plan to play guitar here of an evening and add more white, blue & purple flowers to the middle and a pergola with climbing roses for a Moon Garden.

I have to agree it was the landscaping and the imbalance of the colours that I noticed. From your additional comment I am not sure how important it is to you, but if you don't get it right a different colour won't work any better than the existing one IMO, and if you are going to replace the windows probably do that first, the different proportions of cladding and glass will change the look too. Btw how high is the railing? I know of people who had to change their railings due not being compliant with modern building codes. If you are having work done on the front you might as well find out about that at the same time and update if necessary.

Hi Lizzy, Currently Grey's and white are "flavor of the month" and have been for a while. Colours can certainly date your home. Perhaps the services of a Colour Consultant who can take a photo of your home and show you a couple of schemes. Imaging the opposite. A dark grey, charcoal and white trims.
