Small bathroom design - help needed! Thoughts on wetroom bathrooms?

I need some help with reconfiguring our current and only bathroom in our Aussie 90s 3B home.

At first, I was going to leave everything as is and simply update the room, But it's a pokey room with both doors and the triangular shower screen, I think I want to modernise it.

The only thing I feel that can work is by creating a wetroom style bathroom,. Something I have not been a fan of but I think its my only option.

Below are our images as is. Measurements are 2500mm-1800mm.

What I thought I could do is wall up our sliding door from the main room into the bathroom, and this is where the shower would go. I would ensure adequate gradient tiling and draining is installed at the shower to avoid pooling of water, and would ensure adequate extractor fans and heat fans are installed as I know the wet room style will be cooler and steamier.

Can you think of any other design that I'm not thinking of? I do not want to get rid of the bath and do not want a shower over bath - so my options are extremely limited.

Below I drew up - a 715mm bath, 900mmx900mm shower area with a 750mm vanity.

Climate - we are in NSW Australia, lucky that our weather is not too cold over winter.

If you close the sliding door, and I do hate two doors into a bathroom, you could simply put the vanity there if you want to keep shower in a cubicle.

And if you use a hung vanity and frameless shower it will feel a lot bigger

hi we have about six months ago now, re done our bath room , similar size to yours, and , i can take some photos and email them to you , we have maximised space, and walls , put in a white stone bath under the window , it is a metre in width , with a cool water spout coming off the centre under the window we pu t afalse ledge in to sit , candles etc on , , we tiles floor to ceiling, off white , wall mirror cabnit with three mirrors , inset into the wall so its only sits out a we bit from the wall tiles , floating bath room vanity , so that it makes the floor space look bigger , . matching stone square basin sits ontop of the vanity to one side so plenty of room to sit all your bath room stuff when need be , seperate shower all tiled as well , with inset , shelves for shampoo etc, also , when you open the bath room door and walk in when you close the bath room door behind it next to the shower is a very narrow floor to ceiling shelvec for towels, now the hole is there we jaust havent got the shelves put in yet. , we gt loads of comments as the bth room dosent look small evn though it is , , most expensive item the sqwat extra wide stone bath , made to order basin / tap ware and shower spray thing ,oh and the white stone vanity which we had made to order as well , due to the sizing .

For storage, I used a mirrored lift up cupboard door above the sink area in my very small ensuite with some success. We put power points inside the cupboard too - it was a very good place to have them as the door lifts up & is out of the way. I also used some of the wall space to allow slightly deeper shelves, without the cupboard jutting so far into the room. The cistern was recessed into the wall cavity, (in our case below the window) & it worked well to save a little space in the room. Photos are not very good, but I hope you can get the idea.. It worked very well. The ensuite was 1mx2m. We use vertical towel rails. They're really good & very compact, but do make sure the electrician installs them up the right way. They work on the heat rising principal & do not work well upside down as ours were installed!Hope this is helpful. Good luck.

Its more than enough space for laundry. You can have 600x600 space for stackable dryer and washing machine. 450-550 mm laundry tub. and that leaves you with 1.3m of bench space for folding and pull out ironing. Alternatively you can add a 450mm tall cabinet on the other end for mop and vacuum cleaner storage to match the symmetry of the dryer/wm Put a rod between the tall cabinets and you can hang clothes there for drying when it rains. Its very handy for steaming the clothes as well.
