Hi all,
Those with more knowledge than me - what would you recommend is the minimum width between benches in a kitchen? Ours will be a gallery-style with a back bench (containing the cooktop) and an island bench (with the sink and d/w). One design we are considering has recommended changing the back oven bench to 700mm deep as the fridge/freezer will be at one end and this will make it look more "fitted". Our options are then to either reduce the distance betwen the benches from 1100mm to 1000mm, or move the island bench 100mm further into the living space. There is a kind of walkway space impacted by part of this. I've attached a snip of part of the plans below for context. The kitchen benches are roughly 2830 long and the island bench is 900mm deep, including a 300mm overhang for seating. The "dotted" wall just above where it says 2755 will be a full-height slatted timber screen over the stairwell.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
