80s Clinker Brick Hardie Paint Colour Request
Hi all,
Please see attached the exterior of our house. We are getting the garage door replaced with a single roller and need to specify the colour to use. We dislike the blue and would like to go white to potentially make the house cooler.
Does anyone have a recommendation on a good colour match with the brick? If possible, we would keep the roof colour to keep costs down - I believe it is monument - but happy to consider all options.
We were thinking of black trim for the gutters, keep white fascia and paint the Hardie board the same colour as the roller.

Comments (22)I like the idea of mirror as well, but it is glass and can cost around $900 to install professionally. A stainless still splash back for your cook top and acrylic sides can be more cost effective too. Another glass solutions is a picture of a unique stone, unique artwork or forest view that we can add to splash back glass, this would be a great visual as the position of your glass is so direct. This would also distract attention from above and your windows, it would be the wow factor of your kitchen, not that it needs to stand out it can also be subtle. Masters does offer this service but you need to request it from their kitchen specialist, it is a third of the price of real stone and slightly more expensive than glass. Comments (9)Years ago one of the tv diy shows made a wooden frame that sat in front of the window. It attached to the surrounding bricks and didn't attach to the window at all. Looked good from a distance on tv. I also stayed in a holiday flat where they'd been painted a charcoal colour. They looked great. Comments (23)Hi Katrine, The renovation went really well - thanks! It's been finished for more than a year now - hard to believe!! I could only find one pic of the cladding that was easy for me to upload - here it is. We've been really happy with the FC cladding and how it looks. We replaced all the existing exterior weatherboards (which ran on an angle parallel to the roof) with the same Duragroove FC cladding that we covered the new extension in. Our builders said it is very easy to work with and it certainly went up very quickly. Their only comment was that you can end up with a fair bit of wastage as it often gets damaged in transit. The supplier they used said this is pretty common, however, and so they actually allow for it and oversupply somewhat to allow a proportion of damaged sheets - sorry I can't quantify this aspect for you. The cladding was very easy and quick to paint and we're very happy with how it has come up. If you're interested in details, it's painted in a new Colourbond colour called Gully. The darker trim (fascias, gutters, downpipes etc) is Woodland Grey. Good luck with your decision making. If you'd like more photos, let me know and I'll try to take and upload a few more. Comments (16)Your new home looks fabulous! Congratulations from the Team at North! I am a visual person so I hope you don't mind me adding some photos to help explain colours. Your home has more yellow brick then red like these homes. However the dark grey, light grey and white framing works well with the brick creating a modern clean look. Darker grey for roof, light grey timber/cladding on top level and light grey down stairs around the smaller square windows. You could add a window frame, to frame the windows in light grey/white around the yellow windows or just leave them as they are. Painting aluminum is not recommend unless you get the professionals in. If you wanted to use panels instead of timber have a look at James Hardie cladding - 13 11 03 is the contact number - They have a fabulous products that give you cladding with a paint finish that will outlast any timber you put on your home and is low maintenance. Need to check with the local council as to what roof colours are aloud some don't allow to dark because of cooling costs. Its suggested you pick 3 colours to keep it unified. I'm not so much worried about getting a light garage door, but I'd prefer to stay away from a dark garage door. I can put ventilation in to remove the heat from the garage if I'm really bothered.

2 years agoGreat colour scheme, gully can be paired with Dune, adds a warm tone and adding Bluegum is a great contrast. Your mock up looks great also.
