Something like this would look amazing! I'd like to do something similar for my island bench with draws on the kitchen side.

I actually had a marble counter in a flat I lived in in Europe for a while. I knew nothing about maintenance so just treated it like any other hard surface, and it looked fine (and I wasn't the first person to live in that flat, I assure you). It's more common in Europe, and not so much trendy there as classic. But Europeans aren't quite as finicky as North Americans and Australians seem to be about flawless and unblemished finishes.

Hi Malessi, I've been reading your posts because I have the exact same dilemma and questions! Your marble kitchen looks AMAZING by the way. Is it homed? No doubt you've sealed it... But I also want to know about the Clearstone product, and if you have used it?? I hear mixed reports. I'm thinking of having marble bench tops in my bathrooms. Of course it would look stunning.... but I'm a bit fanatical about keeping it stain/etch free... and I just know I'd hate the etching and dull look, should that occur over time. I would love to know how you are finding your bathroom stone? The upkeep.... and anything else you can share. Thanks Anth :)

thanks for your reply and info guys. So i get that there are little air pockets in the stone and that small little chips or indentations can sometimes occur. The stonemason company has been out twice to fix this. They tried filling it with something like a putty mixed with water etc. They are still not totally filled and smoothe but 70% improvement so lets sat I'm ok with that part...but I'm not happy with the fact the stone now doesn't look new and smooth and it had many acid etches in it already! I know this would happen...but i wanted to be the one who made the mess...didnt expect it to be like that from new. Have others experienced this? & Am i being unrealistic to ask them to give me a new slab??
