My suggestions, don’t move laundry, just change the access and block off kitchen access. If possible make the garage into an extension to your living area by removing the garage/living wall. Make the living into a new bedroom. Installing new front window for new bedroom. The bedroom would then be easily accessible to bathroom. Do not remove the kitchen wall. It keeps the kitchen separate from living area for noise control and where would you put all the current things that are on that kitchen wall?

Install a solar skylight on entry hall ceiling to get more light.

Some separation isn’t a bad thing. You don’t appear to have vanity in ensuite so address that first. Use of garage and ability to make it a livable space depends on its construction and levels. Does it have 2.4 m height clearance allowing for flooring. Was the slab waterproofed . Does water flow into in during storms? Do you need the extra space? Laundry what move it? This option shows no kitchen wall

Dreamer, I hadn’t thought of that configuration which gives me lots to consider! I like that it gives more outlook to the backyard (northfacing).

Kate, I like the idea of extending the ensuite and the streamlined nature of the kitchen layout. Much to consider for using the garage it has the height but I think would still need to be raised to meet the floor and roof of the house which is higher but there are no drainage issues the driveway slopes away from it leading to a big drain.

Without all dimensions I would add a large Alfresco at the rear facing north which will add a lot more useable space, plus enlarge the front porch. Take space from Bed 2 for an ensuite vanity. Maintain kitchen plumbing etc adding an 800 deep Island..

I like these ideas and extending the deck to meet the laundry door. Good idea to open up the laundry this would help with the darkness in the hallway.

I will note Personally I’d keep the wall as I said some separation allows you the feeling of two rooms without them being totally closed off. 1 big open space can look impressive but you are stuck in one space. If you get what I mean.

my suggestions include making better use of the available space to improve kitchen, laundry and ensuite, adding a study nook and a multipurpose area, reducing the central kitchen wall to increase circulation space, enlarging the doorway between lounge and entry, adding a door to separate entry from hall, adding a glass front door to brighten the entry, Solar Skylights for bathroom, entry and hallways, making space for a study nook and multipurpose area and, if you don't need the garage for cars, it could be lined as a separate rumpus room (with or without steps down from inside) and relocate the western sliding door from dining (to reduce western glazing and increase inside wall space for furniture) to rear of new rumpus and add an internal dividing wall in the rumpus and keep the front roller door to provide a separate a garden tool and storage area and increase the deck and add a covered screened alfresco and bigger front porch and/or verandah
