Comments (10)Hi there, How about taking advantage of that window space. Build a book shelf unit right to the ceiling and have the desk built into the unit. You have the window as a spectacular feature, with the desk coming out of the book shelf build. Also, as I see you like white, I'd do it in white and possibly paint or paper behind the build. It would be a spectacular space. Have a great night. Warmest regards. Jane...See MoreNeed ideas for wall above Home Office desks
Comments (4)An instagram style wall - small white square picture frames hung evenly in rows from height of computer screens upwards, with some of your favourite candid pictures. would look good all printed in b&w, or sepia to tie in with your colour scheme...or alternatively go bright and vivid! summer beach shots, pets, kids, holidays etc...See MoreWhat are your tips for a fantastic home office or study nook?
Comments (9)1. Noise cancelling walls, if you have children, no matter where they are in the house, you can still hear them. 2. Space and or everything has a place, some people thrive in chaos, most don't. Have a drawer where you stuff things in so its out of your face and clean it later. 3. Surround yourself with inspirational things, some like posters with words, some like sculptures, books, games. Whatever motivates a person to get in the zone to do what is necessary in these rooms should be highlighted somewhere in the room if not everywhere in the room. 4. A clock, should try to limit yourself and set time frames for things so you know your on point. 5. Keep it a toy, food, junk, washing free zone. Don't have these things in this room period. 6. Calendar, planner something to get your task management on point. 7. Quality Electronics. Don't compromise as they date rather fast and this years computer will be next years paperweight. Buy something that can be upgraded with just parts for a few years. 8. Lighting, you need to make sure you can see what your doing, most people are on computers or laptops or an ipad these days, but old school still use pen and paper so having a desk lamp for night time or windows, solar lights during the day are also good. 9. Plants, we all know they help keep the air blah blah blah, but good oxygen means better brain processes. 10. If budget permits, NOT IKEA FURNITURE, its been done a gazillion million times and it still looks the same old boring blandness as it looks in the catalogue....See MoreSuggest design ideas to add study/office desk in rumpus area
Comments (14)@dreamer : That's exactly what it is, kitchenette - handy for drinks of water, making tea/coffee. We had a undermount sink there instead of vanity bowl, but the cabinet and stone was already cut which restricted use of undermount sink. We are happy with current setting of vanity bowl and pullout mixer. FYI....there are already two bathrooms upstairs ( 2separate basin inside them) so no need to run downstairs :) . @kate Sure, please allow me a day to visit site and do the actual measurements. Will share it here soon. . Actually, my partner and both work from home most of time and we have one dedicated study/office room which one of us will use. But we are looking to see another place where we can setup a office table/chair or some sort of study nook. House is built as per the plans (ground floor is here). Could you suggest another place where we can setup a office table/chair or some sort of study nook as we were thinking to put somewhere in rumpus area as I mentioned in the first post of this thread....See More- last year
