Comments (8)surely you are not serious about your brick choice? I really like it and I can be really mean about your style of house! having the two colours of brick is pretty original and you've chosen great colours, the dark with white mortar is always classy and I'd expect it to be paired with render so having it combined with the lighter brick is the pleasant difference. and it sets up a nice masonry three-way with the tile roof. all it needs is the green. like everyone said just get the landscaping right, plenty of lush green in the right places and it'll be just right. if you add some timber make sure you get the colour right, what's the front door?...See MoreHelp to improve our orange brick facade / overall curb appeal
Comments (11)Thank you oklouise The house started out as a small single storey fibro house (left section). By the time we bought it, it had a 2 storey extension 6.2m w x 12.1m d added to the right side and the whole house was bricked over - leaving a strange stairwell on the side of the new extension (which we faux brick stamped 15+ years ago as it was bright white). There is a small step down to the front verandah but still good head height. The current garage doors are also quite high at 2.5m and would not need to be as high when replaced. So hoping the bulk head (if that is all we come up with) would be consistent / level across the front. That was just my first thought, but fresh eyes and fresh/other ideas are welcome!...See MoreRender Paint Colour Dilemma
Comments (13)We are doing Tranquil Retreat with the only slightly darker Monument for the roof. It took ages to decide, we are now confident it is a good combo, why wouldn't you just continue with the Tranquil Retreat? Maybe do the driveway in a darker grey so it disappears with the garage door?...See MoreFence colour dilemma
Comments (9)If you afford it , I actually think a lighter 'solid' rendered fence would suit your place moreso than a colourbond one -- if it is used as panels , it looks okay , but just against posts and rails , I personally think it would look too cheap , no matter what colour . So see if your neighbours are keen to pay for half a rendered lighter toned fence , and judge their reaction -- it may turn out that that is the best solution both looks and keeping-the-neighbour-happy wise haha . And you'll probably hate me saying this , but no matter what fence you end up with , I feel your house is too white -- yes , I know its trendy , but look at the picture , and the only points of interest are the dark windows and the dark uplights . A classy black entrance door and garage door ( my preference for the garage would be a monument or Japanese Black garage door in slats , you could even have slightly cheesy plasticy wood effect ones ! ) would set it off IMO ....See More- last month
