Need help with my front entrance
Comments (26)Paving paint would be a cheaper option, Modwood is expensive but there is no maintenance, you could you use just ordinary timber decking for a timber look as well but it won't be as inexpensive as paint obviously. I think paint will look cheap. If it was me and I only had a choice between painting the tiles or leaving them as is, I'd leave them as is. I'd worry that it would scratch off the tiles especially on the ends. I used to have a garage painted in grey paving paint, it was very Matt looking, not shiny and the grey looked really grubby after a while. The tiles may not be your favourite part of the porch but make the decorating items the feature or save up and get them replaced with a grey tile you love. It's a small area so it shouldn't cost the earth. Do the removal yourself which would save you some money. It would really update the front of your house....See MoreWhat to do with front entry?
Comments (9)Hello You have a challenge!! Will you also have the pavers pressure cleaned when the render happens? What colour will the render be? I think you have some magnolias growing there at the front. Could they be extended across the entire front to create a hedge for the patio. The single high window is awkward, isn't it? Make it a feature by using two laser cut screens. Place them horizontally - one across the window and the other immediately below. This will allow light into the room and also create a point of interest for the front door. Use your lovely terra cotta pot in front of the screens and add another magnolia. To the left of the front door have a long, lean green wall of living plants - maybe succulents. Complete - do no more!! Cheers...See MoreHelp improve front landscape/entrance!
Comments (13)Keep an eye on your bromeliads. Now that the tree has gone, they might not like so much sun and will need to be moved. Maybe under your front window? The stone edging screams 80's, I agree with removing it or growing something to cascade over the top. Stump removal can be expensive. Maybe attack the multiple stump clump with shovels and an axe to get it below ground level. You could put a birdbath or sculpture on top of the large stump? Even a large decorative pot? Clumping bamboos grow quickly and could add some softness. I like the previous suggestion of grasses too. Good luck with it....See Morefront door colour, deck and. wooden horizontal slats to cover bricks
Comments (17)Hi helke, how different we all are, I think your door is fabulous, by adding clear glass to the side, you will look at your door in a new light , to have such a unique door, you are very lucky. Also by adding decking and landscaping you will love the contrast the render will give to the overall look, you will love how the different textures will blend together to give a beautiful look, but we are all different and you should do what makes you happy every time you walk up your garden path to your home....See More- last month
