I want to do open bookshelf (W 1860mm x D 350mm x H 2700mm) like this in hallway where can I get the thicker timber slab similar to this image in Sydney. any alternate options to get this thicker look. kindly advise
Shelves can be made as thick or as thin as required, with the same thickness of timber. You make a hollow “box”, with the shelf edge, that faces out, the base of the box. I’ve attached a random photo I found to explain this. You could also buy really thick wood from Bunnings or similar retailers.
I can’t help myself. MDF is considered paint quality, not stain quality. Were you after a painted finish to match the walls or trim, or after a timber finish?
