Sealing shower area

Hi,

What would be the best way to seal this join in the wall to prevent the vj was getting moisture and swelling? A big bead of silicon?

Hard to tell how big the gaps are without a scale object but you may need some “gap filler rod”. Put the rod in the wider gaps. You’ll then get a neater and smaller gap to use the silicon. Knowing that you’re planning a stronger colour paint on the VJ I’d make sure the silicon is a paintable product.

Hi Lesley, I would contact a couple of frameless glass door hardware suppliers like Feathers or C. R. Laurence and see if they have something like a clear plastic clip-on seal with an wide brush seal or fin seal. It might also be worth finding out if there is any adjustment on the door tracks which might be able to bring the sliding doors closer to the fixed panel.

Hmm, seems no one has seen them around. I have found them online at Trend Living at Chipping Norton in NSW, Aeros in Victoria and Stallion Product in WA. I didn't think they were that uncommon. Any feedback would be appreciated!!!!

Looks great, nice work! I'm still not 100% sure about the bath in shower area! I love that it essentially allows a bigger shower area within the bathroom footprint, but maybe its a great option for renovations but not so much for new builds?
