I need colour help with new kitchen cupboards
Comments (5)Please ladies, enjoy your kitchens - you have to live with them all day every day. Unless you are thinking of selling in the really short term then have what you love - the next person will probably replace it all anyway, especially if you plan on being in your home for even 10 years. Kitchens are changing so much with all the new technology and products coming on the market. Mcctrish more photos of your kitchen would be helpful, I really can't comment too much with the photo you have provided, but I have just totally redone my kitchen (all for me) and I intended having a glass splashback but when the time came, I found it was just too plain and would do nothing for my kitchen. I think with the glass, you need to have a stunning feature colour to make it effective. That was my problem, there was no colour I could have to make it 'sing'. Look at photos on Houzz and you will see that glass splashbacks are the feature of kitchens. Start with the splashback before you decide anything else. Also, if you are just replacing your doors, are there any other fixed panels in the room that will be replaced also or will it be necessary for them to stay, which will then affect what you choose....See MoreHelp! Piano won't fit in new house.
Comments (8)Thank you all. Oskuee - actually, you may think that I am the selfish one. Out of the whole house my hubby only got the games and theatre to do what he wanted, the rest of the place was mine :-) It would be a glorious concert in the theatre! hah! There is no room left though as where the murphy bed is, is now the built in entertainment cupboards, and the murphy bed has been switched to the front wall. In the games room, we have a pool table, Neo Geo gaming machine, a bar fridge and some other manly type things. It COULD go in here, yes, and we might go this way, but I would prefer elsewhere (not the garage) SueM it is too long (145cm) to fit between the dining and kitchen/stairs. Vy, there is no retreat upstairs, and it is too big for the landing. Yeah, at this stage, it is likely to go in the games (to the left on the wall behind study) or under the aircon in the lounge. I had this really awesome idea to frame some of my grandmothers piano music, songs that were special to her and I, and have them as artwork on the wall behind the piano. This would have been so awesome near the front door. Sigh, hopefully it will still look nice wherever the piano ends up going. Thank you all again. Sandra...See MoreHelp Choosing New Floor
Comments (32)I bit the bullet and paid to get my slate removed and taken away from open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area before getting the new kitchen installed - best thing I ever did although the process was painful - should have paid the extra to get the concrete slab levelled at the same time - anyway I then paid the floating floor company extra money to hire a concrete sander to level the floor before the bamboo boards went down. In the end it all worked out once I managed to clean up the concrete dust - very happy with the bamboo flooring so much better than the old slate. If I was to do it again - I would pay a professional to get the slate up and floor levelled instead of just using the kitchen companies guy to remove the tiles - hopefully they would have a better method of dealing with concrete dust....See MoreHelp me choose a new rug
Comments (20)Rug looks good. Don't get rid of your coffee table. Just slightly sand the top and pick an antique white or light grey paint with primer already in it and give it 2 coats. It will come up great. wouldn't take long to do. Add a tray with candles and small artificial plant, *& would look great. Good luck....See More- last month
