Looks great. I would consider having fridge near dining or a second fridge there for things that need to go to table like drinks, salad dressings etc. so that stuff doesn’t get traipsed through the kitchen.

The design is looking good. Just one note: if you are definitely installing a swimming pool, think about installing an external toilet/change room. Looking at the plan, there is no quick way, to get to a toilet or laundry area. Wet bathers, wet towels, slippery feet etc etc.

it's almost there but would prefer side yard access so that laundry powder room can be accessed direct from backyard pool and side yards for small clothesline and optional outdoor shower... eastern windows will add cross ventilation... rearranging kitchen allows for 3.5m island and better fridge and scullery placement (to allow for side yard access) rearranging the powder room adds more standing (and changing?) room to laundry mudroom, linen is better in the old laundry hall space and backyard pool needs better views from inside so fireplace tv moved to western wall of new living and the steps off alfresco are in a direct line from inside ...allows better outdoor furniture arrangements and also safer and more convenient access from inside to the backyard and could be gated for extra safety

Why is the entry via the living room and not separate, also your pool might be better moved across outside the alfresco for better viewing/safety as 4 steps down will make sight difficult, and as OKL where is the toilet shower facility to service a family pool. Big house

I’m interested in how you will get the scullery wall approved through your council. As it almost on the boundary. Is it being built with double brick and fire retardant materials? And the back living corner is only 947mm from boundary. In Perth, in older suburbs, the build has to be 1000-1500mm distance from boundary unless a parapet wall, and use of fire retardant materials. The era of the original home and its original angled brick walls tell me it is in an area that is 50% build to open space ratio, plus requires the 1500mm from boundary line. We had to jump through hoops to get ours approved and we went to 1300mm and 800mm distance with corners to boundary. (Our land is also angled)

I grew up with a family of 8 with no outside toilet for pool, downstairs loo was not close. Don’t see what the fuss if for one.

@dreamer - haven’t got it through council yet, so will see what they say. But thought you could have up to 8 or 9 metres under 1m on the boundary. But will see how we go….

Your Councils requirements will be on their website. Don’t leave it until you lodge your plans to confirm what you can do. Whoever drew up your plans should have some knowledge of the requirements before they draw up something. Some Councils will talk to you about your plans prior to them being formally lodged. You can call them.

....you may have an issue with getting the scullery approved as proposed - a wall needs to be either on or within 200mm of a boundary or a full 1m off - not somewhere inbetween......it may be better to push the scullery wall hard to the boundary and angle it like the carport - bonus is you'll get more space.....I'd look at doing this same line could be taken with the living room, offset 1m, to give a bit more breathing space in this area - also reconsider the scale of the fireplace as the vista to the rear yard and future pool is important to connect - will feel bigger with more access to the external / long view through the space
