Frameless shower screens
Comments (4)When we bought our place we swapped to a frameless shower to open up the bathroom and get something that we could "live with" until we could do a major reno - what we found was because the shower area was very small (under standard spec) and had a pretty crappy fall to drain, so depending upon who used it we got a little water spread or a lot of water coming out. Check the fall of your floor to the drain and install a low flow shower head. Also check where the shower head is pointing during your shower - angle it away from the screen door - sounds obvious but because there is a small gap between the stable screen and the door if your shower is hitting that (either directly or with run off from your body - elbows out when you're washing your hair for example) that water will run straight outside. Comments (5)Don’t use bar soap as the talc in it which is main culprit. I also have bore water with large amount of minerals so I use a windscreen repellant every six months and squeegee the screen after every shower. It’s held up well for 2.5 years....See Moreframeless or semi frameless shower screen
Comments (1)Hi Rose, generally speaking you should have no problems unless the people installing your shower screens are sub-par or cut corners. With this said it is down to personal preference. So we've outlined some of the pros and cons for both frameless and semi-frameless shower screens for you to consider. Semi Frameless Pros: Cost Effective Easier To Keep Bathroom Dry Better For Tiling and Concealing Tile Fall Toughen Glass Match Into Colour Scheme Cons: More parts for installation Glass is not as heavy on feel which some people don't like Can see trim which hides some eye level features Frameless Pros: Sleek, Modern Look Easier to Clean Show off tile work in the shower Lets in natural light Minimalistic so that it doesn’t detract from your bathroom design Less moving parts Cons: More expensive than framed showers Almost no rooms for error on floor tiling and high falls If we're being honest, framless is in fashion, but be cautious if yout shower tiling isn't up to scratch. Assess this by: Ensuring all the shower grout is in tact Pouring a small amount of water onto your tiles to make sure tile fall works Making sure you have no internal leaks If you want a free in-home assessment to see whether your tiling lends itself to a frameless shower screen give Megasealed a call on 1300 658 007....See Moreframeless shower screen
