Comments (4)we had a beautiful view from an outdoor living space but tormented by insects we decided to screen the area with the cheapest option for the opening size (5m long and 2.5 high) was black Sarlon cloth attached with timber frames and a single old wooden framed hinged screen door.....a fabulous unexpected additional benefit was that the screens reduced the wind, maintained our view from inside but is not see through from outside, made the area more secure and weatherproof but also reduced temp in summer and maintained some warmth in winter while still allowing the lovely feeling of being outdoors..good luck with yours...See MoreJust give me the light! Comments (21)adding furniture always gives a much better idea of available space and bed 4 is much too small for a living area although bed 3 without a wall and wardrobe could be used for a small TV room to open up the long hallway but i've moved bed 2 to make a MPR, added generous ceiling height biw in every bedroom (to include general storage as well as personal items) and simplified the bathrooms and the wide vanities can be used for linen..assuming that there will be a restriction of total floor area to block size i've kept this variation of your plan to 60% of the total area and think highlight windows on the south and tall wide windows above 750 off the floor on the north will allow plenty of northern light and still allow easy furniture placement, the MPR could have a western window to make the room more comfortable in cold weather and external blinds to exclude hot afternoon sun and shade blinds on the outside of the verandah would screen the sliding door but i would omit the external laundry door and the "pantry wall" as shown in Dreamers photo of my own pantry can be included inside wall cavities and needs only about 15cms depth for very useful storage...See MoreExpert advice on landscaping ideas for corner block yard!!
Comments (4)Yep we are allowed a fence.....we are going to match to balcony fence. Can have it to 1800 high, 6 metres off boundary. Also we are to retain it to level out the top so it's kid friendly, also step off the deck onto a rock/paved area with a fire pit....See MoreNeed advice on layout/interior design of living space!
Comments (6)Hello Maria, AAHH the old L shape lounge/ dining that NEVER worked! It was always just a walk thru with no where to place furniture. Blocking off to the kit is a good start. How to use the space is entirely up to you and what you like to do, want to do, have lots of folks in the home needing to do? How many live there? which way is north, would you like a pantry or bigger/newer kitchen? What happens in the rest of the plan? All bedrooms used or would you like an ensuite: I have seen this arrangement changed into a master, robe and ensuite very successfully. Personally I could fill it with book shelves, a very comfy chair, rug and table for cuppa and you would never hear a peep out of me again!! But it is a long way to the kettle: maybe a door would help! a little more info would bee good please.... Is the area outside the kitchen to the left of pix above a social area: could this open onto that? I'm sorry too many questions but it is the best way to get it right for you! Cheers Margot...See More- last month
