34 sq m open space organization
last month
Hello everyone,
We have this 34 sqm open space, and we are really struggling to figure out how to organize it. We consider it the most important area of the house. W
- U-shaped kitchen with the cooktop on the peninsula and the sofa attached.
- Pros: It leaves ample space for the living area in front of the window, provides a large countertop, and ensures conviviality while cooking since the cooktop faces the living area.
- Cons: It is a dark area, and the range hood above the cooktop would block even more light. The small attached table creates a corridor effect, and there wouldn’t be space for or a reason to have a snack counter. The space between the sofa and the TV might be too large

.
- Kitchen with an island and a snack counter on the opposite side.
- Pros: A modern kitchen with an island and a snack counter facing the window. The kitchen would be positioned in a bright area, and there would be space for a separate dining table.
- Cons: Small spaces make the room feel cramped and allow only minimal passage. The dining table would be at the entrance, sacrificing the living room area, and it would be impossible to see the TV from the dining table. I have difficulties to find inspiration online for some good idea on how to organize it.
- Linear kitchen with a table in the center.
- Pros: Simplicity, spaciousness in both the kitchen and living room, and an elegant look.
- Cons: Lack of countertop space for food prep, no sense of conviviality while cooking as the person would have their back to the rest of the room, and it might be too simple and impractical.
What do you think, considering the space available?
