Paint Design Dilemma Exterior

External house colour dilemma!!

I am building a double storey townhouse and am struggling with external colours. We have chosen a natural modular quartz stone (which has grey/beige white colouring) as a feature blade and inverted L shape for either side of the doorway. Majority of externa; is render with a weatherboard corner one side of house on top level.

Our windows, roof, gutters are locked in Colourbond Monument (long story).

We are after a contemporary, beachside feel and are looking at 2 tones of a warm grey. Ive done this for so long (and it was doing my head in) that I even recruited a Dulux colour consultant but Im not entirely happy, so Im posing the question to you!!

What 2 Dulux grey/natural colours have you used/seen that follow my brief?

Grab a sample of monument if possible an off cut. Then borrow a fan deck from paint shop. You need warm greys that through blue not green or are neutral. But blue is a cooler colour. Sore I would change roof

Go over to Pintrest and search Contemporary Beach House Exterior. You’ll see a lot of inspiration. Most contemporary house with black windows/roof use a white for the facade not grey.

Dont think Grey is ever going to blend with mustard. I'd wait until you can do a proper job. Dulux Miller Mood and Milton Moon are very popular.

Thanks for your suggestions everyone....sorry it's not a great photo. The roof is grey. Perhaps we paint the cream parts a warm white and the green either sage green or grey. I agree That the picket fence should be white, just how to tie it in with the rest of the house? Thanks again.

little cottage by the river sounds like heaven...starting with the new steel roof and primrose windows how about a Colorbond browns (Jasper?) with a native garden and dark stained verandah railings etc or Colourbond blues and greys with a traditional cottage garden

Match whatever door/window is replacing the roller door to your existing black windows. Given you already have monument on the property I’d stick with that for the gutters. Once the gutters are done, have the roof cleaned - it may not need anything else done to it. I wouldn’t paint or render the bricks but I would invest in a landscaping plan. The garden is the major area that needs work and will give you the biggest return on investment.

I also are wondering why you a choosing grey on a contemporary beachside home, if the monument is locked in. Black, white, stone and timber are a wonderful combination.

If you really would like grey, Maybe only one colour…….Dulux Pale Elements, using the Dulux Weathershield paint.
