Hallway decor idea

Hi,
I would like to get ideas on how to decorate this hallway. I would love to keep a console table somewhere but then the space would be too congested. Help please! Thanks in advance :)

Attaching photos used to be very easy till they "fixed" it and many people (including myself) can't get it to work now. Makes it hard when you need photos to be able to help people. Try searching photos on Houzz for similar rooms or colours for inspiration. Just from your colours, I think I would like to add some bright greens.

The hallway is bright and welcoming. Forget a mat as you have dogs as well as elderly family. Unless the chair is serving a purpose, I would remove it and add a full-length wall hung mirror which will reflect light and make the hall look an indeterminate length and you can used it to see your reflection before you leave the house.

The hall table is easy on where to put it . Under the stairs . So you ( or family members ) can leave dirty or even security items , out of sight . Did you consider doing something in the hall -- an abstract painting or 2 ? It's a relatively new concept called colour , but some more courageous people are finding it looks slightly different to white , or white , or white , or even black . Haha . The one thing that shows some thought -- the ( almost certainly imitation ) wooden floor panels -- you know you need something when the most positive thing said is about the floor ! A painting on that large white wall can be bought probably as cheaply as painting or wallpapering that whole wall ( especially with the 'challenge' of having to continue upstairs , or making some kind of differentation -- basically two-toning the wall ) . You may even make money on a painting ( you probably won't ) ; you look a bit cultured ( although it hasn't worked for me , and I must have 50 ! ) ; and real easy to change if you get bored or even change your lounge suite , kitchen appliances , a rug or whatever is in surrounding rooms .

The entire space needs colour, warmth and texture. At the moment it is cold and clinical. I would suggest artwork on walls, a floor rug runner, maybe a jute floor runner. Indoor plants in pots. And looking straight ahead, add a plant in a textured pot in the family room near the theatre door.

The only space for a console table is on the wall, in the living area, opposite the entrance.

If you’re at the start of decorating a new house you’re best to start a mood board with inspiration pics from Houzz, Pintrest or the web. You’ll be making a lot of decisions and having visual references will help with decision fatigue and give you a cohesive look. We can make suggestions on what we like but it needs to feel like home for you.

You could add a console table under the stairs. Behind door you could do narrow shelves and hooks for coats and bags
