Daniel Robertson Overland Rugged bricks

last year

Hi, we are planning a new build, single story, universally accessible family home - so, large! To reduce maintenance needs, we are using brick for most of the exterior, and a limewashed brick has been suggested. Rather than import from Italy, some locally made bricks look like they could work. Does anyone have any recent experience using Daniel Robertson Overland Rugged bricks, in any of the colour-ways? I'm a bit nervous that the effect on large walls looks a bit too varied, patchwork.

regardless of brick style choice why add paint when there are so many varieties of brick that could suit your purpose without the extra labour and material cost and ongoing maintenance of painted brick walls and also check out reverse brick veneer clad with corrugated iron for great thermal performance in cool climates

    Not painting them!

The Daniel Robertson range of bricks look good. If you are building a large home with lots of external wall surface, The windows, doors, roofing etc etc, should break up the expanse of brick. I do like a recycled/lime wash brick facade. Just be sure to install “moments” along the walls, that are not brick.

really depends on the particular design and balance of the building & facades....do you have any concepts to share or are you just in the preliminary thinking/discussion stage?
