I'm looking to raise my sunken room floor (5.1m x 4.2m x 0.17m) with concrete fill so it's flush with its neighbouring rooms. This raised floor will also have a step down to the rear sliding door. The property is single storey and built on a concrete slab in the Brisbane City Council.
From what I've read online building approvals are normally needed when changing a room from uninhabitable to habitable, making structural changes, extending a property's roofline or adding an attached or detached structure (e.g. deck or shed).
I'm wondering, does raising a sunken room floor require building approval?
