I would place the TV on the narrow wall without a window. If you're using this room as a dedicated "home theatre", I would look at getting a long, comfy, potentially reclining lounge and putting it at the opposite end of the room (depending upon the size of your TV). I would also consider sitting the lounge on a removable, raised platform and then putting two smaller, lighter armchairs (reclining or otherwise) in front of that lounge (still facing the TV) to mimic a movie theatre. If the two smaller armchairs are light enough (or on swivels), then they can be turned around to face the lounge for easy conversation. As the room is so long, I'd even throw in a couple of comfortable bean bag chairs to allow for flexible seating, particularly if a game console will be connected to the TV and you don't have wireless controllers.

This looks like the room is at least 7 metres long? I am not an expert but have you thought about groupings of couches and chairs? do you entertain a lot or is this simply for a family? I would have a group that fitted around the tv for my family and then add more groupings and tables to take in any view giving it that party room feel. However you need to think about how the room will be used. Latest advice I hear is don't make the tv the hero of the room but we all need to see it too.

Hi Ann, thank you for your comprehensive replies, I definitely prefer a neutral palette as I am attempting to make the view the main feature of the room. I love the style of the coffee tables you chose, they are exactly what I have been looking at and agree with your comments regarding the entertainment unit, I have been actively looking for a long lowline unit (220-240cm length and 45cm high)as I wish to minimise the obstruction of the view. You definitely have a knack for picking up on the look I was after!!!!. Thank you again for your assistance.

How many people are ever in the waiting room at the same time? This would have some bearing on whether more seating is required. I still think a love seat would be cramped even without the file cabinet, since there is what looks like a sink and washing machine on the wall opposite the chairs. ?? Having said that, with file cabinet gone, one chair could be in corner with other chair under window (with plants in raised stand next to) and side table between. Then there would be room for a small 2-seater or additional chairs. I would also swap out the black cushion covers for a grey or off-white (removable covers so they can Ben washed) as the black ones disappear on the chairs. flat rug and one with low pile and easy to vacuum or clean.
