I'm looking to raise a sunken living room floor by 172mm elevation using timber framing and structural ply. The timber joists will be sitting on the property's concrete slab.
I'm interested in installing insulation between the timber joists to help muffle the sounds of footsteps when walking on it. I've read online that rock wool, polyester and EPS are potential options.
However, I'm interested in hearing what others have used for insulating their floors and why as well as hearing other options available to me. Thank you.
