Help! Which colours go with these bathroom tiles?
Comments (78)That is a hard one with those tiles. I would have to think if you did a white, it would kind of work with the colour of your tiles. At the end of the day, they do need to be replaces, but as you said, due to budgeting reasons, you cannot, I can pass on this photo of a nice bathroom with those tiles for you though for inspiration... : )...See MoreLiving room Design Dilemma- which Arm chairs???
Comments (28)Your design scheme has a very traditional European feel. I would continue with this and look at a couple of Louis chairs. The link I've attached shows one with a mix of rattan with an upholstered seat cushion. You can also get them with an upholstered back and arms. However I quite like the rattan for contrast so it's not too matchy matchy with your sofas. http://www.canalside.com.au/productimage.php?product_id=115&current_image=1 You could then add a scatter cushion to the chair. Have you thought about also adding a couple of scatters cushions to each sofa, in a silk or silk like fabric. Check out Kaz's Samara range. Not sure what colour to recommend as I can't see your wall colour clearly but black goes with most colours. Oskuee's rugs are lovely, just make sure the colour ties in with your colour scheme. As you have plenty of dark timber in the room already, consider a glass and metal coffee table and lamp tables in a gold finish. Gorgeous crystal or mirrored table lamps and an ornate gold framed mirror over either the chairs or the sofa to finish off the room....See MoreHelp me decide on my bathroom tile
Comments (27)Hi creativelychallenged, I'm pretty sure all the tiles are faux-marble from Beaumont Tiles. I've used them in bathrooms and they are cost-effective (from $40sqm un-laid) and look beautiful. Marble and now faux-marble is a classic look so not prone to dating. You may have noticed its recent popularity due to the faux-marble now available as the average homeowner may not have the budget for real marble. People worry about decor 'dating' - think about what you love, what will make you happy to live with - decor doesn't last forever because our own tastes change and decor can suffer from wear and tear. Choose what you LOVE and you can't go wrong :-)...See MoreDining table dilemma! help
Comments (21)I think it looks fantastic and you have good taste, I love the contrast between the light oak table / floor and the dark thonet chairs. The walnut colour of the chairs adds warmth and their shape compliments your artwork. Also because the backs are open and you can see through them they add a sense of spaciousness to the room whereas a fully upholstered chair will look heavy and visually make the room look smaller. Original Thonet chairs are a timeless classic and are valuable so I would hang onto them. I think the light is a little small for the space though so maybe a larger shade on the light would be worth considering as it would complete the look - such as a simple narrow drum shade which will not detract from the beautiful chairs....See More- 8 months ago
