Thanks. The lattice has been taken off and yes I hated it too. I think the best thing to do is paint the "triangles" in Dune. Raku is a rich dark grey colour with some brown in it. This style of house is called a "Statesman" house and those of you who live in Perth will know them well as they are known for being well built homes. I like our house but not the turrets and they must connect with the Dune render to tie the scheme together. Before the render we had a peach colour brick. The window frames will be painted surf mist. Any ideas for plants to landscape the front garden part. Thanks again.

I think there's nothing wrong with the wall why ruin perfect brick wall. It's the outdoor furniture that's dragging it down. The table is to yellow and doesn't go with the wall or tiles on the floor ,chairs have seen better days.if you upgrade the seating area and get 3 large white pots with some palms in it and position them in front of the wall , 2 on the left and 1 on the right side of the door it would transform the area.

I think you will get more bang for your street appeal Reno buck from refreshing garage door, and awnings, and some landscaping: perhaps even a timber pergola style entry way to add some visual interest. Pressure cleaning roof, paving as well will give it all a lift. You can always change you mind and render later. But I think with these changes, the lovely white windows and charm can shine through more, without the expense and upkeep involved in rendering.

The brick is beautiful so I wouldnt change this, think Californian bungalow style where the brick is a feature. I think something as simple as adding a faux gable trim, installing white plantation shutters (as you have a lot of windows and as window finishes are very visible from the outside the plantation shutters will soften and give more of a cottage appearance) and painting the window frames a soft neutral to match the internal shutters would be enough to achieve the cottage look (Dulux Antique White USA is a very good colour for external trims). Personally I prefer lighter trim colours with a rich red brick - such as a warm white, light grey or light khaki. I can see you take a lot of pride in your front lawn which is perfectly maintained, so if you dont want to do a lot of landscaping a circle shape cut out of the lawn (not centre, but off to the right near the driveway) with a single feature tree planted in the centre (possibly underplanted with grouncover palnts) and a brick or box hedge border would be enough to soften the front garden.
