We have a heavy free standing bath tub. It was recommended to use a flexi plumbdinger from "Bounty" (Bath Bend Pop Down with Connector) product code 21831.25. To provide this connection underneath, the downpipe has been located out of the centre of the bath. In fact, that PVC flexible part looks too weak. It becomes tooo soft even under a warm water. At the same time, ArtAus (manufacturer of Bounty products) can give 2 years warranty only, and according to the statistics, PVS flexi parts serviceable time approx 3-10 years... I am in a panic... Once this heavy stone based bath installed and sealed by a silicone around its base, no access will be to the waste... In case if something bad happened underneath- water will be accumulating in a void in between the bath bottom (~10cm above floor level) and floor itself... I hope it would be a crazy idea to cut silicone around and lift this bath up for checking up regularly :) What kind of "remedy" can be advised, please? First I can think about- to add an additional drain via a T-adaptor to the same downpipe to let potentially leaking water escape to the same drain... Second solution- to throw a water leakage alarm sensors underneath and fix a detector body somewhere behind bathtub. What would you say about that? Or, probably any other smart solution can be suitable. Thank you for your help!
