Comments (4)Hey Paul! Firstly, congrats on starting to adult. I'm yet to begin the homeowning part of that journey but nonetheless will relish in offering my thoughts on your male-accountant-esque aesthetic skills. 1) Glass panels - scrap them! $500 could be better spent elsewhere and it's common, like mentioned above, that people don't want the insides of their cupboards visible. 2) Blackbutt laminate floors and gloss white cupboards - matt benchtop colour I think should also be dependant on paint colour of the walls as well as other furniture. Not sure if you've mentioned that? Neutral is always safe though. In terms of flooring, I agree with the other commenters again in suggesting you rip up the carpet yourself and see the situation on your hands. A bit of elbow grease (and probably a few swear words) and you'll have saved some cash you can invest in the appliances. The amount you're investing in renovating the kitchen should also depending on the scope of your other renovations of the place (how much you're changing/investing in living, bathrooms etc). Side note, but an important consideration, is thinking of the kind of future tenants you would want living in the space and what they would consider important. Kitchens are often the heart of the home, so investing a little more here, especially if visible from front door, IMO isn't completely irrational. Comments (8)I do this for a living and love the old houses, the door is tops were it is... you can change the window and still make the sill sit at bench height. But I'd sit the window 200mm above bench height to give a more of a splash back feel, as if you use a sub tile for splash back there 100mm high so x 2 height will contrast well. I'd leave it and if it can fit just put the fridge next to the pantry door, all depends if you want to create a larger space? Then yes remove the pantry wall and use the space were you have the mini fridge , and of course if your going to live in it? Sometimes unless your doing this for a quick turn around actually puts a dent in the pride of the house as it is... Google and of course Houzz gives great options on what to do and what not, you'll be right but that's my input... Good luck!...See MoreBathroom renovation - a couple of design questions
Comments (3)Ooh. iI ike the idea of using the green in the niche - would help tie in and integtrate the facing (feature) wall. We're going to stick with a wall faced toilet, but will build out a false wall to the current edge of the bath so that we have an invisible cistern as well as create a void for the niche above. And think you are also right about the continuous bulkhead too. Thank you!...See More- last month
