Help needed for new floor plan!
Comments (11)How much laundry do you do? For example, I have kids, so cupboards would need to be very accessible. But if you mostly do it on the weekends and yuo have somewhere for storing the dirty washing, then cupboard laundry sounds like a great use of space. What about noise? Will that be a problem with the open living space? Sometimes when the fridge hums, the dishwasher whirls and swishes and the washing machine spins, we have rouble hearing the to at night! Another option could be to stick it in the garage at the back wall, and place shelving all around. Stuff doesn't have to be perfect! And a spot of paint could make it bright!...See MoreNeed some creative help for my floor plans please
Comments (23)Hi there Victoria, Just trying to add a few more ideas, with a separate Pantry/Landry cupboard (this can easily be ducted and when the doors are closed very quite). Fridge and appliances all along the wall, the island can be what ever size you would prefer. It would also be nice to have a computer desk next to the kitchen by the window. I would also prefer the living area off the sliding doors to the alfresco area Bedroom 4 could have full height sliding doors coming together at the corner this can be close off or left open for times when extra space is needed for the family. And built in Wardrobes in the master would work best, just have something that blends in and looks special....See MoreHelp with our floor plan! We need more space in our tiny house!
Comments (18)anything is possible with enough money but with such a modest budget you might achieve the new bathroom and kitchen OR the extension but it would be difficult to achieve both at the same time but you haven't answered the questions??? what is the distance from the house to the back fence, what are all the floors, walls and roof built out of (ie inside and outside walls, concrete slab on ground, or is it a timber floor with crawl space underneath the house?? and NB where is north? ...what is the shape of the roof (hip or gable tiled roof or??) ...do you have an aerial photo of the roof like Google earth??...extending over the retaining wall shouldn't be a problem with proper cosntruction and there isn't anywhere else to go without losing the best outdoor area that has easy access to inside...the extra lengths of pipe isn't the biggest cost of new plumbing and a ventilating skylight will make a great light source for an internal bathroom......See Moreproposed bottom floor plan ideas
Comments (55)Hello there, I haven't read all the comments or studied all the plans and variations but I would suggest the powder room with a shower downstairs be on external wall for vent: store rooms do not need it. Also have the laundry doors in center and opposite each other allowing for two straight runs of benching much better!! The kitchen look huge: maybe make dine larger. Upstairs have the study all open to stairs and void: a much nicer place to work. Why have the ensuite on the far end when it would be lovely for bedroom to look out and to have it closer to robe. Then too move robe door so you do not do laps round the bed to find slippers. long window is excellent for fresh air in robe too. I know you said it is a QLDer but which way is north and have you taken that into account to your liking, heating, cooling? Cheers Margot...See More- last month
