The clients’ original kitchen, while well connected to the open plan living/dining space, felt dated, lacking the connection, character, and functionality they desired. The brief was to modernise the space with a clean, minimalist aesthetic and improve usability so that it better aligned with the clients’ daily routines and cooking habits.
Existing Floor Plan Vs Proposed Floor Plan:
The reimagined kitchen is a sophisticated ode to modern Australian design—paying homage to a large Aboriginal artwork that inspired the palette and material selections. Sleek matte black, fingerprint-resistant cabinetry provides a dramatic foundation, balanced by the organic veining of natural Taj Mahal Quartzite benchtops. New Age Veneers timber accents bring warmth and texture, echoing the earthy hues of the artwork and adding a sense of depth and cultural connection.

A key addition was the butler’s pantry, created by repurposing space from the adjoining secondary living area. A pocket door provides access to this highly functional zone, which includes a secondary sink, bin, dishwasher, and built-in wine fridge. Custom storage solutions were designed to suit the clients’ needs, including a bespoke spice rack to accommodate their extensive collection.

The transformation also extended to the home’s flooring, with the solid timber floors patched, sanded, and re-stained to complement the new aesthetic. The result is an open, light-filled space that flows seamlessly into the living areas—offering a refined balance of practicality, sophistication, and cultural storytelling. Premium materials were selected to elevate the overall quality and enhance the property’s long-term value and resale appeal.
