Need help choosing the right colours for my kitchen
Comments (9)I have thought about some sort of white cabinetry too but could it look a little odd with the rest of the house, as the house is rustic? My second thought was maybe oak cabinets with a light granite bench top, which would be the safer but maybe not so modern? I really don't like the look of painted bricks. I have seen some very nice brick wall kitchens on Houzz but my kitchen seems to have more bricks then most and a lot of the kitchens in Houzz mix plaster in the room, which looks amazing but I can't do that. I have found a great fabricator for the granite. I have also found that granite isn't much more expensive then Engineered Stone so I would rather go for the real thing....See Moreneed help choosing a wall colour
Comments (4)Hi Max You will be pleased to hear that terracotta is making a comeback! It always works well with warm whites, like Resene Quarter Spanish White. Consider installing one feature wall in the room in recycled slatted timber that has a similar tone to the floors, in order to tie the space together, and bring a more modern feel. A great palette inspiration for you would be from our colour concept collection "Modern Western" https://www.bodoboards.com.au/collections/paint-concept/products/modern-western-paint-concept Good Luck!...See MoreHelp me choose a colour fence please......
Comments (13)Oh! Sorry I misunderstood your post. I think it depends on what type of planting you will have along your fence line. I assume it will be a Colorbond fence? I wouldn't introduce Shale grey. Of those two I'd prob stick with Surfmist but then I think greenery looks FABULOUS against Monument fencing. The whole back of my house is Surfmist acrylic render and we have chosen Monument fencing and garden retainer walls/seating around the perimeter of our garden as it provides a background of depth against greenery. I know you don't like Monument though. Houzz does give you a variety of opinions and does make you think outside the square. Good luck with your choice!...See MoreHelp me choose a blind colour please
Comments (62)Ta heaps, Jodes. 2 years post reno and we’re still lovin‘ it - it’s so practical and easy to clean. I’d have yours any day too btw. You’re lucky to have a sparkie on tap. We don’t. Our cabinet maker threw in the strip lighting. I thought it was a nice but unnecessary extra; something I wouldn’t have asked for. But like you, I’m so glad it’s there - no working in your shadow. It’s brilliant. An absolute must in any future kitchen reno now. The MW is good but a bit impatient - it beeps too much! We had a 20yr old Sharp carousel, so the new one was a bit of a tech leap. It‘s pretty easy to get used to. We use the combo function a lot, and the rice program does a great job. Wish it cleaned itself tho! Since seeing your fridge, I’ve been on alert every time ours makes a weird noise, hoping this is it - bang - ceased motor. New fridge! Keep us updated about your window coverings. It’s a lovely looking home. You and your hubby have done really well. :-)...See More- 6 months ago
