I would go for white in the ensuite. Also when I choose my tiles, the person in the tile shop said to put the two tiles together and see how the looked. I had chosen my grey floor tiles, and when I put the white next to them, they seemed to "pop". They white seems to bring out the grey. Hope this makes sense.

My initial thought is it May make the room fell narrower doing the short wall opp door. Might be ok if not to great a colour contrast. And if it is beautiful that might be the way to go. -other views?
