The door swing may block wip entry a little so may need to offset it a little. At present the fridge is not behind bench reducing the impact of others using fridge, Fridge is also deeper than standard bench so if you are moving it I would inset it a little into the wip space.

Because you have cavity pocket doors you can't step the fridge back in either position, you would need to build the fridge out to take the depth. I cant' see any kitchen WIP Laundry dimensions, ie; between island and rear cabinets to work with

Another thought for layout, keeping the fridge where it is which gives better access to alfresco. The WIP pantry will be long and dark unless theres a skylight running the cabinets as per my basic sketch you would get similar space plus you could include a linen room which can be accessed from bedrooms and continue on into the laundry, just a thought

Siriuskey’s suggestion would also give backyard access to toilet without having to go through living areas, and also the most important, access to laundry from the bedrooms without having to walk through the living areas, around the corner, into the laundry. I always wonder why designers think you have more washing from the kitchen than the bedrooms…..??

I added access to wip from rear hall to make it easier to serve the home theatre

A doorway from the rear of the suggested new WIP is not marked but will allow more light into that space which the current one lacks, It could also include a tea coffe toast station for Breakfast and the Media room refreshments

Thanks Kate. Like the idea of fridges and freezer along the inside wall of pantry. Extends Siriuskey's redesign. Also hides them a little from the open plan living area.This is a kitchen remodel. Hence having to work with what's there
