I need help for interior design for all rooms with sea theme
Comments (3)How literal should I interpret this? Are you wanting seahorses, crabs and wall mounted fish, or a more nautical theme as far as colours and finishes? I would set the theme in bedrooms first, that way you have more fun taking risks and can later use the best ideas in other areas of the house. I would start by installing a vertical lining board cladding to the walls, painting them a duck egg blue or sea green. Floors leave timber, with sisal rope rugs under bunk or cabin beds. Lighting is always fun and both ceiling and lamps come in this style. Where possible, plantation shutters on the windows, or install louvre door cut to fit and hinge them across a window, paint in a nice teal blue green and then while still wet, get a sponge and wipe most of it off, you'll be left with a stained old timber. I would hang two or three round mirrors above a dresser like porthole, and use timber oars, either new or old as curtain rods or coat racks on a blank wall. Lots of things for this look, not to mention hurricane vases with sand, shells and starfish, bowls of sea glass, pebbles and shells, and artwork. So many ways to bring in the theme....See MoreNeed help with which professional I need
Comments (4)What an exciting project - providing you have adequate ceiling height and the budget to pay for the services for a bespoke solution. You may want to consider using one of the better shop fitters who can design, build and project manage the whole job. They are used to doing quirky, small scale projects to a high level of detail. The better ones don't come cheap as you are paying for a multi-disciplinary service that is project managed and co-ordinated....See MoreHELP! I need help updating the look of our tired old unit
Comments (5)I'm thinking on similar lines to oklouise , with a couple of differences . The front fence looks to be similar brick , but not identical , but the reason you notice that is because the house is almost all white trim , and the fence has a black cap . So I'd do that cap in white , and thats got that a bit more in tune . The iron railings , the white windows , the awnings , the squared hedge are all old-fashioned , but thats what you have . I'd change the awnings , paint the door white , get rid of the canvas carport . But rather than doing the garage in charcoal , I'd try and get a similar orangey red to the brick ( get several test pots ) . Its not going to be perfect , but neither is black or charcoal . To a certain degree , replacing the garage cladding with cedar stained natural wood in theory is even better , but I'm worried it may look too cliched . The gardens are okay , of course theres heaps you could do but theres nothing jarring there , but the final thing I'd mention is the right side fence . I'm not a fan of white fences , but with the reddish brick , the brown roof and all the white trim , I wouldn't try and bring in charcoal ( monument ) or similar , I would keep away from almost every other colour , so by a process of deduction , it would be white . Not even cream or beige or surfmist or grey . White haha ....See Morehelp help help styling this living room!!! it is ALL wrong!
Comments (15)Look, you've got very modern tastes and its all lovely. I don't mind the placement of it all actually. But the downside to the modern monochromatic look is it can look stark and not cosy and warming. Especially, as most of the magazine styled homes that have this style are really high end custom builds, there is a lot of invisible finesse in those spaces that comes down to architectural design, light, shape etc... they also tend to not have stuff and families etc... check out the hygge trend and see what elements from that could bring some warmth and cosiness. everything you already have is lovely! maybe some splashes of taupe and clay and dusty rose? A few chunky throw blankets over the couch? A nice feeling rug under feet. I'm not feeling the zebra art, but you must have liked it to buy it right? you need a bit more personal touches incidental splashes of colour and texture and pattern to bring it together. test it out, kids stuff is a great source of colour, if you grab some random colourful things and arrange them onto those shelves and stand back does it look more inviting? Baskets of toys? a pot plant?...See More- last month
