it's ok Oskuee, I still haven't really finished the lounge, really? this is a great website, I can refer back to comments and advice for future reference as well. I definitely want to find a nice light/s for over the table, I just don't know what will look good, I have been scouring houzz and a few other sites trying to find something that might suit and perhaps improvise with as well with a similar/replica? I still have a couple of pieces by the dining table I want to sell or swap? as I had my eye on a beautiful 2mtr long 1mtr high buffet, but for $3000+ (perfect dimensions and look) Which hides all the dishes and glasses and a built in hidden wine rack : ) I couldn't justify spending that much so have an empty space waiting for something to come along? I have even considered trying to build my own? but don't want it to look banged up either? hehehe

Thanks for all the suggestions. It's taken a bit of time but I have collected a few pieces to make the space look better. I decided on a table lamp and have grouped some photos behind it. I'm really happy with the result. a couple of new cushion covers for some more colour which I love. I also have a clock for the far right wall and a picture for behind the couch. i don't love the picture but it will do until I can find something I really like (and have the funds for). thanks for all the great suggestions.

Hi Christine, there is a few options as listed above. You can build shelves and storage units around your wall split system air conditioner though make sure that you leave space around the indoor unit. I would leave at least 100mm around the entire unit at a minimum. Wall splits draw the air inside the room through the top of the unit and out through the bottom louvers. Alternatively, have your air conditioning tech/ Electrician decommission and remove and re install in an alternative position. If its done by a licensed technician he should be able to pump the refrigerant down into the units compressor and easily move and reconnect without any problems or the need to re-gas the unit. Holes in plaster are fairly easy to patch, and if you are putting shelves or storage back in its place it doesn't have to be a perfect finish. I would do sink on back wall in front of window. Stove on the side wall that has the window. Could do 2 windows either side of stove. With stove on side you can still chat whilst cooking. Tall storage on opposite wall and fridge
