I need help with my tiny laundry
Comments (6)Since you do not have much money you will need to do some DIY. Moving the toilet, sink and washer is out of the question. Remove the shelf and make a hamper/ bookshelf for storage. Would be nice if you had doors at the top to hide everything. Should be only 16 inches at the bottom and top half should be 12 inches deep. Clean up the wall with the outlets, using tape and drywall mud were the crack with the two pieces of wood is. The window I would frame two pieces of plexiglass with a semi-transparent design and mount it on the window ledge like sliding closet doors. Between the sink and toilet same plexi but all the way to the ceiling. Hopefully out of 2x2 if there is enough room. For the sink I would make a wood cover with cut out for the faucet to get a little counter space when not using the sink. Also paint one wall a different color for effect. Take the towel off the washer and add some shelving....See MoreNeed help with bathroom/laundry design
Comments (9)I have 3 questions about your space, Do you want external access for laundry to back yard? Is there a window/external door in there? Could the bath be just a nice galvanised tub/large plastic tub/baby bath that hangs on the wall until needed? (Filling & emptying it happen in the new shower with flexible spray arm???) My first thoughts are to keep all the plumbing across back wall (if no door planned) and move the entry door to the linen cupboard on right hand side. Then make linen cupboard on left front wall and accessible in part from both sides ie. bulk towels etc outside upper wall access (behind shower) then laundry basket & other storage is inside access, How about a modern shower which is 13-1400 mm square (same position as current layout) with a 7-800 mm glass door on left and a tiled 600 mm blade wall on the back right hand side which the laundry stone bench butts to (window over?) Leaves 18-1900 mm length on back wall to accommodate the tub/sink and washer dryer. If you place the washer/dryer under the bench and a 500 mm wide storage cupboard you gain a greater bench area for sorting etc and wall space depending on window for shelves, hanging rack etc. If you really want a bath Decina have a corner model and a rectangular to fit these dimensions and then you would need a shower screen (will this be the only bath?) With the door into this room on the right it creates the better flow straight ahead to the laundry and left with some privacy to the shower/bath. The linen cupboard is a good size and you could have a hatch on the outside right to the laundry basket inside which could even be on wheels in a recess/niche. Hope this makes sense and helps a little. :-)...See MoreNeed help with Laundry and Bed4/Study floor plan
Comments (3)probably too late now but my suggestions include 1. exchange the glass slider in the laundry for timber framed glass door with venetian, 2. changing the internal laundry door position allows for extra storage, accessed from the hallway, while still allowing 2.7m laundry counter with space for a drop in sink, under bench basket, washer and floor standing dryer (very happy with this arrangement with wall cabinets and hanging rail) 3, reducing the depth of the pantry to 1200 and changing the pantry door allows better use of the space, easy access to set down counter for fridge and unloading groceries into the pantry, room for full size freezer and the space taken off the pantry is added to 4. bigger bedroom with smaller wardrobe and the re-positioned door gives more flexible use of the bedroom and extra storage from the hallway...BTW check out the good tax rules for owners who rent their homes for up to six years.....See MoreNeed help laundry/bathroom and studio
Comments (9)Thanks Oskuee,. I don't use bench space in laundry now as fold washing on my bed as this is central to all bedrooms and linen cupboard. I was looking at, along the 2700 wall: gap for ironing board and clothes horse, stacked washer dryer, sink with drain board, tall 600 cupboard with shelves. Under sink have a tilt out hamper and a cupboard for buckets. Above sink a shelf and a pull down/out/across clothes line. I currently have a massive drop down clothes line, 18m of line, in the laundry which will take a full load. It is on a pulley system and is very useful, albeit home made so not so attractive,. I will miss it sorely and need an alternative for family of 5...See More- 3 months ago
