Not sure if classic French provincial home would have had honed marble tiles. Is this for bathroom or floors or walls. French provincial home would have soft warm natural finishes. Timber floors, stone floors But modern French style high end diff to classic provincial.

Hi Kate, I made this choice due to lack of visibility and how the finished look will be and now I'm contemplating. This is for floors. My builder will charge me if I have to change them. But would love to take expert's advise.

Refer below is an AI generated image. I want my space to be low key and this is too loud for my personality.

Do you mean these tiles, slightly different name?? And this is a less loud/opulent french provincial style, compared to your AI produced fake photo. If you have chosen these tiles, then they are their own feature. You must of had some form of vision for your home if you chose the shiny busy tile. Keep the furnishings elegant not “loud” using texture, not too much colour. Except for some wonderful artwork chosen to complement the tiles, not to outshine them.

These are examples of the French Louis style of living room. Which your AI generated photo is closer too.

To be low key a lot of that will be in the furnishings choice. Also large rugs. This will tone down any tile choice.

    Hi dreamer,

Thanks a ton for the response.

I selected the attached tiles an year ago and the builder delayed the build until last month. I checked their website earlie this week and noticed that the title looks like the one you shared and it's different to what I selected.

So, I'm worried and didn't want to compromise on my taste and selection. Hence, checking in thsi forum to attain some mental peace.

Also, I requested the tile company to check if the supplier changed the tile style after we selected as the current one that is online will not meet my design style.

I would negotiate with your builder a reasonable fee for changing your selection. You may be in a strong position if the tile has changed since you made your selections. Your flooring will be a dominant part of how your home looks and it’s worth getting it right. Do you have inspiration pics from Houzz or Pintrest to share on how you’d like your home to look. French Provincial to me is definitely a matte floor and if tiles are being used more wing the line of limestone in a French lay pattern.

Big reader, I'm looking forward for their confirmation to opt other tiles if they don't have like to like version. I'm aiming for classic styling with minimalistic tiles and warm wall colours. Aiming for Louisxv styling in masterbedroom

Nothing to do with style but...Just a note to keep in mind - glossy tiles are a nightmare to keep looking nice. Need very regular cleaning as they show every mark and when you do clean they need buffing dry as you go so water marks don't dry on. I would never have them again.
