Shorten house to gain backyard access?

last month

Hi, we have a 40yr old 5 bed house on ~1000m block. The house has a small dining area that we use as a "stuff" space, due to being too small for a rectangular dining table. I'm after thoughts, wisdom, advice on halving the width of this room (essentially shortening the house) in order to gain vehicle access to the large backyard.

The rear verandah will need to be modified but it needs replacement anyway due to it's age and construction, A/C moved and concrete pathways etc. but these items are really peripherals and quite readily understood.

The roof is colourbond, and the slab will need to be cut down once the existing building is pulled back. Im not sure thats even possbile really, and so here I am :)

The new end of house will be aligned with the remaining wall, essentially removing the step in the existing design.

House will be ~10sm smaller but the property will have rear yard access for a shed.

Hopefully these photos will help tell the story.
