Toilets should sit within 800 mm width. Dou you have another toilet the kids can access. Otherwise I would try and make a private toilet. Is there a window?

With preference to the last image providing privacy to bathing zone and toilet

a built in bath, not a freestanding bath is better. This stops the hard to get places where grime accumulates around a freestanding bath. I agree with Kate, always a separate toilet.

Given there’s space for it I’d have a separate toilet/pwdr room accessible before the rest of the bathroom.

please share the whole house floor plan as location of possible access doors will decide best options..in the meantime somthing like this should work and check out Solar Skylights (arcol or illume brands) that come in small round or square designs that would be ideal for toilet and vanity room and a ventilating skylight for the

wet room

The back end of the house is where the reno and extension will be.

There was an option to remove bedroom 3 to convert it into a WIR and Ensuite, but we need the 4 bedrooms.

A second separate toilet will be a bonus for privacy and time management. Great to see you already have a powder room in plans.

Is there a way to square off the extension and move the open plan living along? It wouldn’t take much more in building costs. You could then consider an ensuite attached to bed 4. I know it’s not the biggest bedroom but to spend the money on an extension for a lovely family home and only have one bathroom is robbing yourself.

As this is 4bed house with one bath and a powered room I would def do the 3 way bathroom in my or okl plan. The powder room can be accessible toilet.

@bigreader - totally agree but I’m trying to keep costs down as much as possible. Adding another extension I imagine would equate to another 100k given it’s another wet area. Plus I would like to keep some space for sun loungers by the pool.

I like Kate's 3 way plan. I have 4 daughters and this layout would have saved tensions many times over. Toilet needs to be separate and basins need to be accessible when the shower/bath is in use, in my opinion

Totally get that, but the home is a 1890s Victorian and we want to keep the original front section. The north is the side with bedrooms along it

Long and narrow spaces are not bad for a bathroom layout in my opinion. I like how the plumbing is kept along one wall on the original plan drawing.

What about:

- a cavity sliding door in lieu of a swing door

- swapping the vanity with the toilet, so you see the vanity first on entering the room

- add a skylilght directly over the shower/bathtub

I also totally get the requirements of keeping the original beauty of your home. The 1890 to 1920 homes are beautiful and should be kept in their best original condition. I just thought I would post these photos of a 1920 home, over here in WA. They added a new extension from back bedroom walls, also changing original front entrance to a new side entrance. Notice they have added an ensuite and WIR without changing the features of the home, but adding to it with the correct doors, skirtings etc. This master was the original lounge room.

With the Bathroom maybe You might wanna put one of those little tables so u chill
