I've lived with both, I like both so for me it would come down to aesthetics and price. Vinyl feels a bit softer and easier for pets to walk on, if that is something to consider. You can clean it easily with a mild detergent so makes it easier to do the whole house in one mopping session. Hybrid has a slight plastic-y feel and our dog can't get a good grip on it. You mop with hot water only - no detergents. Looks more like real timber than vinyl but it is still obviously fake. It gets damaged from things getting dropped, spiky heels etc.
I have vinyl planks throughout the entire downstairs of a house. Ive come from a house with real wood which would always be my preference. The vinyl def doesn’t look real but it is seamless throughout laundry, powder, kitchen, entry, lounge and L/D/K. It is very easy to clean and feels nice underfoot. It seems unbothered by pets, kids and shoes. My advice would be to bed or buy a box of your final choice of product and actually try it out in real rooms and light. I don’t love the colour I choose but that’s on me, even though I used many samples etc. I have seen reports of people having their vinyl discoloure but after two years that hasn’t been a problem for me.
