adjustable Louvred wall / fixed panels??

We have an outdoor built in bbq area - we’ve subsequently realised that the rain comes in from the west and therefore in heavy rains, the area gets soaked.
We were considering adjustable louvres to help bring light in, shade in peak winter and keep rain out when it’s rainy. See red shaded area in photo.
On inquiry many shutter companies don’t do adjustable louvres as they are fragile and break easily.
Is there an alternative option to keep rain out and let light in??

Cafe blind if you are happy to roll it up before bbq use, bifold window, gas strut tilt window. Commercial grade operable shutters

I am not the best person to comment on lights but would a few downlights be the go or one of those integrated heat/fan/light things be best in centre. Also a lot of people have task lighting......so lights just above the mirror for makeup etc. Personally too bright lighting while doing makeup sends me into a spin as I look like i have about a month to live! I hadn't thought of approvals for my proposed window - so thanks for that. Must keep that in mind. My bathroom is very hidden and looks nowhere in particular. It is all looking good. On another note my friend got a heated towel rail and much as I hate wasting power it is fab. Our towels seems to stay dampish in uninsulated BV '60 box in Melbourne. Also i would have a look in bathroom showrooms for some ideas too if you have any handy. Or buy a bathroom specialty magazine. It is going to be so nice this bathroom. What tiles etc?

Oh, Vy, that's really beautiful. I also agree, clear stain. I'm glad the plan came together before Summer hits! :) Enjoy. Hi dear Siri....always investing so much time and thought into designs for everyone... thank you so very kindly :) I love the look of that! Seeing things in 3D really does bring it to life and make a plan just pop right up off the paper! Do you think the shower/toilet should be swapped to take advantage of the garden view? Otherwise the toilet gets the glory - and a little set of table and chairs would be looking back inside to the toilet? Or - could we do that idea off the shower/toilet side? From the dressing room down to the toilet? Make the dressing room smaller to accommodate a door into a small walled garden? Love your (and everyone else's) input as always :) xx

I like what you have done i this bathroom, there is only one thing that could have been done better and that’s the position of the mixer tap for the shower. You should have access to it without getting wet , so it should have been positioned on the back wall closer to the towel hook. So you can turn it on and wait for correct water temperature before you get in.

I don’t know where you have received your information from. You can get adjustable louvres that are good quality. Here are two companies that offer adjustable shutters. They are made from aluminium. I have installed movable aluminium shutters in my patio area in a large area. They are NOT easily breakable. I would suggest you look at reputable companies. Not cheap imports from online stores.
