Best memory from your childhood bedroom?
Comments (38)I was about 12 when I got my own room. Previously I shared a room with my mother as she was widowed. I chose the wall colours, aqua, a brownish colour and two burnt orange walls. Sounds dreadful but the colours were more subtle than they sound. I had an aqua chenille bedspread and and blue and white see through curtains that blew in the breeze. Out of my window I could see an orchard of plum trees. On the floor was a patterned carpet with a rim of polished floorboards (only the edges polished). A bookshelf, a desk, a wardrobe, a dressing table and my grandmother’s sandalwood glory box furnished the room. Love this post as it brought back memories of the 1960s for me....See MoreDark brown bedroom furniture!
Comments (12)I agree with the above comments. need to look at colours and wall coverings as well as adding decorations with mirrors, pictures etc. What type of style and colours do you like? I would use your likes as a means of starting a picture board with things you like. My oldest son is nearly 20 and I am only now reorganising my house to suit the adults living in it. take your time and enjoy your creative inspirations, get ideas from books, TV and magazines, but don't go for trend, go for things that say "you"....See MoreMaster bedroom feature wall

Comments (59)Hello everyone! It's been a while. Thank you all for the overwhelming response. Just thought I'd better update you all on changes I've made. And yes, got rid of those horrible lamps (what was I ever thinking when I bought them???). So I know the new lamps aren't still tall enough but they were all I could afford. I think they look nice. Wrt the artwork, decided to hang up a triptych of my eldest daughter artwork which I love. Now I know what you will all say: "those frames are way too small". So my next little project is to find larger frames for the artwork. On the left corner I usually have a mother-in-laws tongue plant but I had it outside when I took the photo....See MoreJennifer Nielsen
