Comments (16)Agree about the paving stones - a mistake to be repaired & pulling them up & allowing someone on eBay to reuse them where they may match, sounds good. However, don't agree that the bricks are a mistake. Personally, I love textured bricks as you can pick out a colour from them to do trims & in 15 years, change the colours & refresh & still go well with the brick colours. I think yours are particularly nice. Removing shutters - great. If you can, take the opportunuty to take off the ornate screens on doors & windows & replace them with the very simple looking security screens. Renewing the roofing material to something that lets in more light is also a good idea. If it's not feasible to do at this time, it can always be planned in steps, but it's good to know ahead what the plan is/will be. Re colour choices. I would suggest not going with the current fashion completely. Remember when everything in every suburb was "mission brown"? Everything that has that colour is immediately dated. Best of luck, and enjoy...See MoreOur new unit needs a new colour
Comments (2)Hi Porters make metallic paint - Slipper satin - I have used it & it gives beautiful lustre - very dramatic in a living room. Or do you mean a flat paint with a silver tone? Again Porters 'Angel Shoes' may appeal to you. 'Phantom' is also nice but may be too dark for what you imagine. I think green would look good near your sleek kitchen - Porters 'Wasabi' is a good green which has yellow undertones that would sit well with your orange soft furnishings. With lots of indoor plants it would be on trend. Have fun. Let us know what you decide....See MoreKitchen Walls - New Paint Colour

Comments (15)Your floor and other wall colours are great but Red (orange), black and white are very harsh together, the wall cabinets either side of the range hood have been badly installed, they should have been built to the ceiling. My suggestion is because the kitchen is small, I would remove the cabinets either side of the range hood and then run a row of white cabinets across above the sink to the end of the bench top. Paint the walls white or a soft grey, the range then becomes a stand alone feature. You didn't mention what the splash back material is but I would consider a clear mirror splash back along behind the sink and up to the base of the new white cabinets so that you're not just looking at a wall. cheers...See MoreMandy
