You should be able to do three panels in those windows up into that arch with horizontal louvers and fully functional. Your shutter maker just needs to line vertical posts up where you have vertical mullions! giving that center shutter something to hinge to. Here are a couple of similar windows I have done. It's a partial arch but it's the same concept with yours

Curtains are coming back in at the local display homes and look very luxurious. Plantation shutters look stylish in the right house but I agree with the comments about the potential to look dated if not a good match for the overall house style. Rollers remind me of schooldays when the teacher set up the projector to show a film while the students struggled to get the blinds to stay down to darken the room, but modern rollers are a simple window covering which can be a good thing if all you want is something that opens and shuts in the background while other features of the room stand out. For something you'll really be happy with you need to be weighing up personal taste, house style, window style, functionality, maintenance, room usage, window orientation, etc. You can choose the trendiest look but if it's a nuisance to live with because it doesn't provide the required light/dark level or privacy or is noisy in the breeze or whatever, it is not the right choice for the purpose.

Hi Gwen, I would keep the shutters facing the front of the house looking the same. It would look weird if there was one window at the front that had a different coloured window.

Hi Bradley, firstly what a beautiful home you have developed. As a window covering professional, I would pose you a number of questions before giving any advice. So firstly consider what the room is being used for (it may seem obvious to you - but everyone is different), secondly what is the style/concept/mood you are attempting to pull together, thirdly what obstacles are present in the window. All these items a Window treatment specialist would review with you prior to making suggestions. Of course - lastly, what is your budget. To give an example - in the bedroom- you may need it to have a total block out facility for sleep, (Plantation Shutters wont provide total block), or maybe you want to highlight the view (Plantation Shutters are for closing it off), and as you have mentioned - you would have to mount it onto the architraves (would look unprofessional if you stuck up plantation shutters over the archs) and getting to the sash windows would be difficult to open and close the shutters. In your case (my opinion only!) I would look at Roman Blinds for the bedroom (Face Fix above the windows, and over the window architraves ), perhaps with a sheer behind to filter the view, still giving you filtered light during the day - but providing privacy. In the other rooms a roman blind is also applicable (again because of your sash windows face mounted and covering the Archs when closed.) There is a lot to consider - so recommend getting some help!
