Hi ca69. I haven't read through all the comments but wanted to point out that my eye keeps getting drawn to the massive 'blank' space under the semi circle gable. As an Australian that has visited QLD alot I know the look you are trying to achieve but the front right of the house seems really unbalanced with the window so far to the right. What about one window centred on that wall or two windows the same size to give it symmetry? Also, might be good to look at light coloured colourbond roofing. Something like Dulux surfmist as the lighter colours reflect sun rather than absorb it and it is already hot enough up there. I would lose all the brick on the exterior and replace it with the coloured hardiplank composite - it doesn't need painting and is a composite rather than timber. Keep the colours lighter for eco reasons. I work for greenstar builders and lighter exterior colours in hot environments is becoming common building practice. Also look at painting your front door a red or lime green. There are pictures oh Houzz for inspiration.

You have a mixed colour palette & an eclectic range of furniture which means that you will end up with a very interesting room indeed. First suggestion: reposition rug so that all of the sofa sits on it equidistantly. At the moment your main colours are: chocolate; white; tan and grey from your sofa, entertainment unit, dining table, kitchen etc. These colours always look great together particularly if they are teamed up with black. So I think if you choose the right artwork with these colours; add copper items to top of your tables and choose cushions in these tones the whole room will come together. You will successfully mix old and new & it won’t be too bold for your taste. Note: artwork should be purchased first & be landscape in orientation. Could your existing artwork hang in the kitchen or hallway as it would be seen from the main room? To give you an idea of what I mean see pic below. Not suggesting that these items are what you would personally choose but focus on the colours and how everything is tied together. PS you could put some of your ornaments on the coffee table.

Yes. It is difficult to describe one's style. Have no idea what style but you seem to like: 1. Having a clear link to outside greenery/nature (bringing outdoors in). 2 Lots of light via big windows. 3. Pitched ceiling. 4. Simplicity - square set cornices. 5. House to have a natural elements.. 6. Colour scheme: white/naturals/navy/black/splashes of timber in each room. 7. Division of living space by change of levels. 8. The simple design of house allows your artwork and nature outside to shine. (I like the same style as you, apart from the timber walkway as a must and I often struggle to know what to tell people in shop the look I am going after).

Hi jen2608, the lounges will work. And the buffets. Get a rug that will be big enough to fit under the front of your lounges. With my quick sketch I would suggest a 2000mm x 2300mm size. Or at least a 1600 x 2300. Rugs are personal things. But with the beautiful deep wood furniture that you have, I would bring some similar tones in with the rug. But with a splash of colour to match your new lounges.
