Choose a traditional style of bunkbeds. On the lower one add a piece of plywood to one side. On the upper one add a piece of plywood to the opposite side that reaches to the ceiling. The room is now divided. If your building skills are lacking you can hang curtains instead. You would have to attack them to the bed for the lower bunk and the ceiling for the upper bunk. Or you can arrange the beds so that they are perpendicular to one another. If you use this arrangement, a dresser or a desk can be placed in the excess space underneath the raised bed. With either arrangement, choose a bottom bed that has built-in drawers for storage. Either choose a theme they both like (outdoors, skating, etc) and paint the walls accordingly; a neutral color is best...or you can paint the walls behind each person's bed in a color that she chooses and make each bed with different linens. Allow each girl select an area rug she likes and place the rugs on their respective sides of the room. If you already have 2 beds in the room put them on the 276m wall right next to each other with a room divider (or screen.) You could put the beds against the walls with 2 narrow bookshelves or dressers (side by side) between them. Have one facing toward one bed and the facing toward the other bed> I wish you all the best!

Hi arcmaz Great house - fantastic 60's modern look - Harry Sidler (Modernist Architect 1923-2006 exponent of the Bauhaus style in Australia, mainly Sydney) would have loved the interpretation, its a good style, don't change it will pay dividends in the long run. It would be good if there was a plan of the house,and a plan of the block this would allow some relatively accurate planning proposals. If you had the real-state plan with the block plan it would help a lot. In terms of making the place bigger and retaining the style I would suggest that the extension (maybe one room and an en suite depending on a budget) be a block in the today's current style, but linked to the existing house via a "link" (Link =small walkway). This would allow you to retain the style, but not be dominated by a past period, I have done this a few times and it has worked fairly well. If you are looking for three bedrooms it might be best to add a master bedroom with a bathroom, and then maybe living areas with back yard access. There may be other approaches depending on the current layout that could be considered, but I would retain as much as the original as possible, and only make small cosmetic changes until you are ready for a worthy development. how exciting for you....most important is location first including views, local climate, sunny or cold and noisy side of the building then access to public transport, local shopping, direct easy commute to work, ongoing fees what will you be responsible for outside your own apartment including ceiling leaks? security front door, windows, balcony and access to lock up garage with storage, private laundry (or space for a washing machine in the bath or kitchen), secure public entry and external lighting ..inside look for the most spacious rooms, open plan kitchen rather than small separate space, preferable two bedrooms and a generous bathroom...old kitchen and bathrooms, floorcoverings and decor can be improved but you can't improve the location.. best of luck with your first home
