Comments (66)Wuff, that's how it should be...unfortuntely things are hardly ever as they should be and mny people these days haven't a clue about ettiquette....that applies to some adults in particular. I agree that fine dining restaurants are not suitable for children...unless of course, as you describe, the children hav been schooled in proper behaviour. One restaurants I've been taken to on specil occasions actually has a policy of "no children"..but in order not to breach discrimination ettiquette they have a special chidren's dining room with waiters dressed in colorful uniforms. There's also a fine dining children's menu. The children are called 'maam' and 'sir' and have their chairs pulled out for them....they have their non alcoholic drinks served in lovly glases as if it were champagne or wine....it really delightful. They also have themed evenings. There's a dining etiquette that the children are expected to observe..and how to hold and use the cutlery. Parents are given a little booklet about it.. I thought it a good way to instruct the adults under the guise of instructing the children. It works well and the restaurant owners are to be commended for such a novel approach to...well, it "manners" isn't it? And not many know the mening ot the word these days. The children come away from such an experience feeling important..and I think some parents learn a few things too. There's nothing worse that not being able to go out for a dignified meal because other people don't realise that some places are just not for children..especilly their chidren. Its one thing being well-to-do and completely another having manners. My dear old Mum was the eldest of 12 children...their Dad was an Engine Driver, but he insisted that each and every one of the children learn manners.. As disadvantaged as they were, they "dressed" for dinner in their best always clean, pressed, starched clothes,,, darns, mends and all, and he'd inspect them all before they were allowed to be seated. Mum's Aunt Laura taught her to..."be a lady" and educated her about the arts, taught her how to dance, how to set a table for a three course meal, how to dress, how to be polite, and..how to cook and manage a home...so she would be able to "mix it with the best" and not be thought out of place. How things have changed...its all more relaxed. Manners and respect for others seem to have..."Gone With The Wind"..regarded as outmoded and old fashioned. Pity! Wonder how we can get a gracious, respecful society back?...See MoreDilemma if the room looks a bit like a kids room.. Any way I can fix t
Comments (16)If you can't change the purple blinds, try and tie them in with layered cream, beige and chocolate brown bedding. A natural wicker style light fitting with matching side lamps. Above the bed, perhaps a large wicker wreath with a few sprigs of lavender (real or not) threaded throughout. If there's room, a chair painted or covered. With the chair you could choose floral or striped, as long as there's Browns, 'soft mauve' with touches of lemon. At the foot of the bed, you can purchase a cheap polyester doona, cut it in half and dye it the required colour. I've done this and it works well. I've then sewn wooden buttons at all the quilted points. Good luck....See MoreWindow placement on gable end. Does this look right?
Comments (14)Even though the windows over are wonderful, the back pocket will feel the cost as they would be custom made, more expensive for the builders to install, but if casements, (open at side) that would make for great windows which catch the breezes, why anyone would want fixed windows is beyond me, the more we can open up a house and naturally ventilate it, the less you have to spend on air con, two angled windows need to be fixed. Any hot air over the opening part will sit in the ceiling space, but if you wanted to be even smarter, then i would consider the roof windows, which pivot and let the house ventilate totally, also like the cost comment with the windows over, these are expensive by it looks like you have the pitched ceiling inside, which would allow for the roof windows....See MoreWhat does/n't your partner do that drives you nuts?
Comments (59)oskuee..pulling down his pants doesn't have the same effect though.. I'd rather leave him alone to wash my dishes.. if I hit him he'll say I'm a husband basher.. I go into work after hours as I get more done only when he's not around ..when he's around he causes havoc a squeeze here a fondle there..thank goodness we haven't had to have the security camera tapes reviewed lol even when his staff is around he'd pull me in between the shelves then poke his head out to see if anyone is watching lol or worse still into the back of the shop close the door and monitor his staff from the computer screen lol I can't win.. at night I can't sleep as I'd get into bed fall asleep and he'd fiddle with me any hours of the night.. if I fall asleep after he does I can't sleep as he snores.. result is me walking around like a zombie hehehe his sisters and nieces thinks I'm lucky as he adores me..there are days I just want to find him a second wife so he can annoy her half the week lol so now I'm half the week away..so for three nights I get proper sleep..can't function without sleep I'll crash .....See Morepatatas
