Before and after in Townsville – from mid-90s to now
This project was started with a dream in mind and set of plans to match. Our clients always knew there was more that could be done to their existing home, so that they could stay living in the suburb that they had come to love and call home.
The existing home was a little tired after 20 odd years in existence. The mid 90’s style of Mediterranean influence with its Terracotta tiles and Grecian blue kitchen palate was in dire need of an over haul. We completed an entire internal demolition with all bedrooms and bathrooms changed around, including relocation of the master bedroom wing into the existing garage location.
The Kitchen and living area of the remodelled house is a mix of fresh crisp white cupboards and stone, accompanied with a splash of warm, inviting natural cedar clad walls. This is capped off with a beautifully unique and hand crafted custom cedar barn door by Samford Homes.
Finally, the front of the house was finished off with the addition of a newly constructed 2.5 car, drive through garage linked to the main building by an open timber framed pergola bold and block rendered fence with custom entrance gate.

Ideas for exterior - brick mid-century built home
Comments (43)Australia has nice examples of painted and rendered Art Deco homes. If it was a different kind of brick I would say keep it, but I think painting/rendering would really brighten the place. I love the windows. Although all pics here don't exactly match your style, they are all of that era. As mentioned in above comments, there are mix of landscaping styles that suit from conifer/gravel/grass to cottage rose garden to an Australian native garden. Comments (12)I grew up in the '70's and '80's and can tell you, the warm and cozy feel you mentioned made me feel overwhelmed and depressed! Lighting was always dull. Terribly difficult to notice any dirty cupboards as the colour was so dark! I love the new kitchen, and like others wonder if the rest of the house was done in a French Provincial style as the handles seem to intimate? Not that it matters, the owners would be happy and I am sure love working in there now. Good job!...See More- PRO
