Brass finger pull and black laminate ?
Comments (6)I'm going to throw another opinion into the mix. I think the combination of Black and Brass is timeless. I encourage my clients to concentrate less on trends and more on what they really love, this transcends time. Brass can also be introduced into the kitchen with lighting, sinks, tapware and even stools and accessories to create a connection between elements....See MoreNew look powder room
Comments (2)personally I would stick with the silver, it's timeless. A round mirror would look good....See MoreIs it better to use the same hardware colour throughout the house?
Comments (6)I wouldn't be as harsh as Dr Retro , but I'm not a Pro . In fact , I like gold , I like black chrome , I like silver chrome , I like Victorian white tapware , Dr Retro seems to have focused on matt black , but surely thats limiting yourself ? Personally , I'd just go room by room . If your kitchen was dark marble and gloss charcoal cupboard doors etc , then I'd look at gold/brass , or gloss black , or chrome in whatever style complements ( modern in a modern house or modernised house ; 70's in a 70's house ; classic gold or chrome in a Victorian farmhouse ) . If it was ( shiver , shiver ) white benches and cupboard doors and appliances and walls and ceiling , then again black or gold would look great IMO , chrome not so much , but anyone who does white on white on white lacks something anyway haha . So a kitchen , or dining room , or bedroom , or wherever , that is mainly white , or very colourful , or mainly pink , or black and white , may suit some styles , not others . To go one step further , and have black taps and gold handles mixed in one room would depend on the style of the house and/or each room IMO -- gut instinct is no , but I can think of some combo's that may work -- a Victorian house with solid wooden varnished doors , gold/brass handles , a kitchen with a wooden floor , white marble bench-top and black gloss plumbing would look balanced , for example ....See MoreA boring kitchen?
Comments (36)Hello FTB, I can see the simplicity of your colour choices and think it will look lovely because you can have blue glass and pots on the bench one week and green ones with green tea towels the next. It will add colour and variation to the whole room as you want as you go! One thing I would mention is tho: with the sink on the island Might I suggest the sink is as close to the end of the whole huge island as you like sop you have one large area of benching together. best for stools, homework, new papers, laptops, cheers and whine etc. Far better and more useful than two small pieces. Cheers Enjoy. Margot...See MoreMiranda Rose
