I would look at some heritage colours. I agree with not going with grey.

Grey has had its time, certainly for walls at least. Grey roofs will stay.

I'd go with turquoise, lavender, etc..

Have a look at 'Poppy Pink', 'Vanessa Mai'... Heritage colour schemes look great. Google 'Painted Ladies-SanFrancisco'. WOW, stunning!

Heritage colours tend to be dingy. Natural white external and go for trims in a strong colour that you like e.g. navy , red , teal etc.
