Comments (10)Thank you to all who took the time to comment, I greatly appreciate it. The Timber feature is outstanding and I spend a lot of time and looked to thousands of pictures until I reached this design, you can see the timber going on the display cabinet too. The kitchen maker and designer advised to go for a glossy Splashback "Grey Beige" only for practicality as she said cleaning the Matte is a nightmare. Also The splash back specialised lady told me that in her 13 years working in this industry only twice she installed Matte splash back because it is difficult to clean and the colours are not as intense and beautiful as the glossy. As Gary mentioned I was thinking initially to get the same caesar stone to go up as a Splashback but I ruled it out because of the cost (it cost $6000 more than the glass) By the way the Matte will also cost me $1500 more than the glossy as it needs a special treatment. Now I have selected two colours in Matt (Attached Photo) and asked the Splashback company to send me samples on Glossy also to send me a blank glass sample which I can paint it with colours samples I bought from Bunnings and then I will decide....See Moresplashback help
Comments (23)Gallifrey my mother in law and I loved the fabric from Spotlight. We had to cut off big, pink eiffel towers which were printed every few panels. Was still worth it. My mother in law liked it so much she did the same when she went back to NZ. So now we have matching cushoins and quite a few pink eiffel tower offcuts in our sewing remnants lol....See MoreGlass splashback colour
Comments (5)The benchtop in the kitchen is the hero piece. Go neutral so you don't draw attention away from the benchtop into the butlers pantry. The splashback is usually well hidden in a butlers pantry by things on the benchtop. You have enough happening already without adding yet another feature. Comments (64)Hi again, Lorraine here, I looked closer at your pictures of the area. I also noted your comment regarding "what if" you re do your kitchen. So, we all can do that and then time tics away and we dont do anything and frustration sets in as you really just want to change the things you have been looking for many years. The picture you have taken tonings from is very near your kitchen. the chairs to the table are the most pronounced of the colour you are seeking. Around the larger part of the room there are only little touches of the tone you like. Your rooms are very light with the blinds up. So I think the kitchen can take darker colours. Like the very deep grey outline of the fishes or the deep blue/grey in the painting or colour of the chairs. Laminex limed cement is a wonderful deep colour and will bring the benches alive. Then with removing the heavy door handles and seeing if you can use the push and clip fittings - you wont have any door handles but use a neater steel looking knob for your drawers or brushed steel handles on cupboards if you cant get the push and clip things inside. Paint the front board looking into the lounge and the cupboards a deep grey/blue colour to fit with the, mid deeper colour in the painting and the outline of the fish and the red will fit in nicely. Keeping your blinds up allowing the light in more than not will bring the room to life. Take out the floor runner. Do you use your stools? with the table right there are the stools necessary? if not take them away and ensure that area of the cupboards at front is painted - this gives a clearer area defining "kitchen". hope this helps Loz...See MorePriya Ananthram
