Build-in wardrobe with high ceilings
Comments (21)Hi Bec. I have a Federation home with high ceilings and I just installed a built-in robe in my master bedroom. The door swing lands within the wall-to-wall run. My solution was to install a 2200mm high robe and run a decorative capping all the way round to top edge. Behind the door, I stepped the robe back and installed a wide stack of drawers and open shelves. It neatly fits in behind the swing of the door without needing expensive structural modifications. I don't recommend going all the way to the ceiling where you have the luxury of height. It will shorten the room and you'll never get up there. In my case, the capping provides a lip which helps to conceal things I store up there that I don't use often like suitcases and bedspreads....See MoreAwkward Wall Painting Advice needed

Comments (1)I think you’re suffering halfway-throughitis. Once the skirts and cornices are done, and once the room is painted all one neutral colour and the drapes reinstated you’re attention won’t be as drawn to the slant. Finish it off before worrying. It could be a great place for some art....See MoreAwkward large corridor - floorplan advice
Comments (20)At this stage with a limited budget I'd recommend you sort all the maintenance and repairs work first. Things like stormwater controls not working and dodgy electrical are two biggies. Make allowances for future works so the maintenance jobs don't need to be re-done. As noted re-stumping maybe required. If its going to be a while before major works are to commence give it all a fresh coat of paint inside and out, new fences, etc. Even by doing this you're adding value to the property! While this is happening discuss the design and final budget and formulate a solid plan. It has a lot of potential to extend/etc but budget is key....See Morecmnaustralia
